A little about J. Edgar Hoover:
Hoover was born to parents, Dickerson Naylor and Annie Marie Hoover, both civil servants who worked for the government.

After graduating high school Hoover worked for the Library of Congress.

He received his Bachelor of Laws Degree and Master of Laws Degree from George Washington Law School.

During WWI, Hoover accepted a job with the Justice Department that allowed him to be draft exempt.

In 1924, he was appointed director of the Bureau of Investigation by President Coolidge.

In 1935, the Federal Bureau of Investigations was established with Hoover as its first director.

Hover set into motion a laboratory that would be used for scientific methods for obtaining and analyzing evidence.

Discontented with the Justice Department’s limitation on investigations, Hoover created the Counter Intelligence Program (COINTELPRO).

Hoover often used COINTELPRO’s illegal tactics for his own personal vendettas, using national security as his reason.

J. Edgar Hoover died of a heart attack at the age of 77.
